Depuis plus de 10 ans, la Cie XY interroge le langage acrobatique à travers la pratique des portés.

Tout en s’appuyant sur les fondamentaux de cette technique circassienne, les artistes du collectif jouent avec les codes, les rythmes et les formes de l’acrobatie pour les remettre au centre du geste artistique.

La Cie a choisi de travailler en grand nombre afin de multiplier les possibles et de pousser plus loin cette recherche.

Le choix du grand nombre répond également à une démarche artistique qui est d’interroger les concepts de masse, de foule et leurs interactions dans un même espace-temps. Plus loin, il s’agit d’interroger le rapport de l’individu face à un groupe ou au sein d’un environnement social donné.

C’est aussi dans cette démarche que la Cie XY a choisi d’être un véritable collectif avec un fonctionnement collégial et la volonté permanente de se projeter dans un système non hiérarchique. Ceci influence considérablement notre quotidien et devient par ce biais une composante directe des formes artistiques que nous produisons.

Dans ce contexte, le collectif a choisi de se tourner vers le public à travers la création collective de grandes formes pour le théâtre, l’espace public et tout lieu qui permet la représentation en frontal comme en circulaire.

Since more than 10 years, XY is performing an acrobatic art through the practice of lifts.

While grounding with basics of circus technics, the artists of the collective play with standards, rhythms, and forms of acrobatics to refocus them as artistic movements.

The compagnie chose to work in a large number in order to multiply all the options and to go deeper in the artistic research

The choose of a large number is as well a way to start a reflexion about the concept of mass, crowd, and their relations in the same place at the same time. Over and above that, that’s start a reflexion about the relations between an individual and a group or in a particular social environment

It is also in this demarch that XY chose to be a true colective with a collegial working and an everyday will to grown in a non-hierarchic system. That’s a huge influence in our daily life, and in this way an element our artistic productions.

In this way, the collective chose to reach the audience with great forms for theater, public spaces et any places which permit frontal or circular performing.
