Solarpunk Manifesto is a non-profit association founded in Paris in August 2025. Its mission is to foster the emergence and diffusion of positive, regenerative futures through cultural, educational, and participatory projects. Rooted in the solarpunk movement, it reclaims imagination as a tool for transformation; a way to inspire action, nurture agency, and reshape our relationship with the planet and one another.
The association develops projects that bridge art, ecology, and research, such as creative residencies, workshops, public events, and audiovisual collaborations. By creating spaces where communities can collectively explore alternative narratives, Solarpunk Manifesto encourages people - especially young generations- to envision futures that are desirable, inclusive, and sustainable.
Founded by Lola Kengen and Maxim Velli, the association grew out of the Solarpunk Manifesto podcast, a platform dedicated to rethinking progress through imagination and empathy.
Lola Kengen is a researcher in pedagogies for sustainability education, exploring how futures-thinking can be integrated into formal education systems. Her work empowers learners to challenge dominant narratives and build agency in the face of uncertainty.
Maxim Velli is a biodesigner with a background in synthetic biology. He is driven by the conviction that biotechnology can only meaningfully integrate into everyday life when we cultivate holistic, desirable visions of our shared future. His practice expands beyond the technical realm and engages with the cultural, social, and political implications of biodesign.
Together, they aim to strengthen the creative power of communities and rewire our collective imagination, cultivating radical hope and turning visionary ideas into tangible change.
