Qui sommes-nous ? / Who are we ?
Michaela Meschke est une chorégraphe suédoise qui vit et travaille en France. Jacqueline Savidge est une artiste anglaise qui vit et travaille à Hydra, en Grèce. Elles ont décidé ensemble d'organiser Hydra Dance Days.
Michaela Meschke is a Swedish choreographer living and working in France. Jacqueline Savidge is an English artist living and working in Hydra, Greece. Together, they decided to organize the Hydra Dance Days.
Notre projet / Our project
Notre projet est de proposer un évènement de danse avec entrée libre qui permette aux habitants de Hydra à la fois de danser et de profiter d'une soirée de danse donnée par des artistes français et internationaux. Nous sommes convaincues que la danse est accessible à toutes et à tous, et qu'il est intéressant de créer un forum ouvert tant aux amateurs qu'aux professionnels.
Our project is to provide dance event, free to all, which allows the inhabitants of Hydra to dance by themselves and to enjoy an evening performance with French and international artists. We believe that dance is for everybody and that it is important to create an event open to amateurs as well as professionals.
Où et Quand ? / Where and When ?
La soirée internationale de danse aura lieu le jeudi 11 juillet à l'Hydrama Theatre à Vlychos.
Michaela Meschke va donner des ateliers de danse du lundi 8 juillet au jeudi 11 juillet, de 10h à 12h dans le centre de Hydra.
Cécile Lassonde va donner des ateliers de danse du samedi 13 juillet au dimanche 14 juillet, de 10h à 12h dans le centre de Hydra.
The international evening performance evening will take place on Thursday 11 July at The Hydrama Theatre in Vlychos.
Michaela Meschke will give dance workshops from Monday 8 July until Thursday 11 July, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in Hydra town.
Cécile Lassonde will give dance workshops from Saturday 13 July to Sunday 14 July, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in Hydra town.
Pourquoi un financement participatif ? / Why do a crowdfunding ?
Pour que les artistes puissent jouer dans de bonnes conditions. Nous avons besoin d'aide concernant les charges liées au déplacement, à un salaire minimum et pour le logement.
Nous cherchons également des personnes qui souhaiteraient accueillir les artistes pendant 3 nuits ou plus.
We need to make sure that the artists will be able to perform in professional conditions. We need your support for the travel and accommodation expenses as well as guaranteeing minimum wage.
We are also looking for people who would be willing to host artists during 3 nights or more.

Nous avons besoin de vous pour rémunérer les artistes et financer leur voyager jusqu'à Hydra.
L'organisation de l'évènement est assurée par Michaela Meschke et Jacqueline Savidge. Michaela et Cécile Lassonde assurent également la réalisation d'ateliers de danse, gratuits et ouverts à tous. Corinna Seeds nous acceuille dans le Hydrama Theatre et la Mairie de Hydra nous prête un studio de danse où seront dispensés les ateliers.

We need your help in order to pay the artists and cover their travail expenses.
The organization is ensured by Michaela Meschke and Jacqueline Savidge's voluntary work. Michaela and Cécile Lassonde will give the dance workshopes, which will be free of access to all. Corinna Seeds will host the event at the Hydrama Theatre and the town hall of Hydra will lend us a dance studio which will help us ensure the workshops.

L’histoire derrière Hydra Dance Days
L'homme de théâtre et le metteur en scène suédois Michael et Lakis Christidis, organisateur entre autre du Ciné club Hydra ont fondé un festival international de théâtre de marionnettes. L'équipe a été rejointe par Antigoni Paroussi, professeur de l'Université d'Athènes. Pendant vingt ans, le festival a présenté de nombreux artistes professionnels du monde aux habitants et visiteurs de l'île.
Après la clotûre du festival, de nombreux spectateurs de réclamer cet évènement, aux souvenirs extraordinaires. Aujourd’hui, la fille de Michael Meschke, Michaela, chorégraphe et Jacqueline Savidge, artiste, ont souhaité créer un forum pour célébrer la mémoire de ce festival.

The theatre man and stage director Michael Meschke and Lakis Christidis, organizer of the Hydra Ciné Club, created the Internation Puppet Theatre Festival that went on for twenty years, assisted by Antigoni Paroussi, professor at the University of Athens. The festival became a major cultural event for habitants of Hydra and visiting profesional stage artists.
Ever since, the wishes for a continuation have been strong on the island. Today, Michael Meschke's daughter, Michaela, choreographer and Jacqueline Savidge, artists, wanted to celebrate the memory of this festival by creating Hydra Dance Days.
