soundinitiative est un ensemble de douze musiciens originaires du Royaume Uni, d'Australie, Belgique, Chine, Pologne, Italie, États-Unis et France. Le groupe est riche de cette variété de langues, de cultures et d'expériences musicales différentes, et chacun de ses membres s’est déjà forgé une carrière de soliste et chambriste, en France comme à l'étranger.

Créé à Paris en 2011, l’ensemble se consacre à l’interprétation du répertoire contemporain, à la création d’œuvres de compositeurs établis ou émergents, et à l'élaboration d'événements musicaux scénographiés en interaction avec les lieux et le public.

Depuis ses débuts, le groupe a été invité à se produire aux festivals Ars Musica (Bruxelles), Suona Italiano, Sons d'Automne, en province ainsi que dans de nombreux lieux parisiens : St Merry, Institut Culturel Italien, Cité Universitaire ou des lieux atypiques (Société de Curiosités, ateliers d’artistes, …).

soundinitiative est le premier ensemble français à avoir été choisi pour le programme Boost Young Ensembles du festival de Darmstadt (août 2014).

soundinitiative comprises twelve musicians from Australia, Belgium, China, France, England, Italy, Poland and the United States who have each forged their own careers, both in France and abroad, as soloists and chamber musicians. Their mix of backgrounds affords the group a rich collective musical insight encompassing myriad cultures, musical languages and musical experiences.

Since its formation in Paris in 2011, the group's activity has centered around the interpretation of contemporary repertoire, close collaboration with established and emerging composers to create new pieces, and the development of musical events with a strong emphasis on scenography and the physical and visual interaction with the audience. The ensemble has built a strong audience base through their innovative programming, strong stage presence and constant collaboration with local and international composers.

The group has been invited to perform at Ars Musica (Brussels), Festival Sons d'Automne (Annecy), Suona Italiano (Paris), in the north of France and in numerous venues in Paris (Rendez-vous contemporains de St. Merry, Fondation Biermans-Lapôtre, Fondation Deutsch de la Meurthe, Collège Franco-Britannique) as well as performances in non-standard concert venues (Societé de Curiosités, artists studios and other projects). soundinitiative holds the honour of being the first French ensemble to be chosen to participate in the Boost Young Ensembles program at the Darmstadt Fereinkurse which will take place in August 2014.
